Affording Geffen Academy at UCLA
At Geffen Academy, it’s our goal to ensure that our school is diverse in composition, and accessible to the UCLA and greater Los Angeles community. We aspire to provide the best financial possibilities for families to afford Geffen Academy, and we commit to working with your family to determine a realistic level of tuition that will make the possibility of a Geffen Academy education a reality.
Thanks to David Geffen’s generous founding gift, we have an endowment that supports a robust financial support program. In considering a family’s ability to pay, we look at a number of factors, including, but not limited to, income, assets, family commitments, medical expenses and the number of people in the household. Tuition Assistance awards will be based on families’ needs and both UCLA-affiliated and non-UCLA-affiliated families will have access to tuition assistance funds. Geffen Academy will use an objective and 3rd party service, Smart Aid, to establish the financial need of each family as part of the confidential process. Required documentation will include tax records, including copies of all W-2’s and 1099’s, as well as a household budget.
Geffen Academy tuition for the 2018-19 academic year is $30,500, plus a $500 book fee, and will include full tuition plus:
- Food served by UCLA Dining Services
- Extended hours, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.
- Student retreats and field trips
- PE and athletic team uniforms, first issue
