The Geffen Academy at UCLA soccer program offers both middle school and high school options for boys and girls. The teams practice and compete at the world-renowned UCLA intramural and north athletic facilities; Home of the UCLA Bruins, Los Angeles FC, Real Madrid and Manchester United. Not only will each student athlete train on top quality fields, but they are sure to walk away having developed a greater understanding of the game under the direction of the highly trained coaching staff.

Laura Janke

Soccer Program Director
Girls Middle School Head Coach

Laura comes to the Geffen Academy from Louisville High School where she served as the Physical Education Department Head, as well as the Assistant Athletic Director. She taught Sports Psychology, Sports Medicine, Health, Cardio Kickboxing, and Strength and Conditioning, amongst other classes.

Laura is a highly skilled soccer coach, who played, and captained, Cal State Fullerton before become a collegiate coach. In 2007 she helped coach USC to their first-ever NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship, and beginning this winter, Laura will lead the girls’ soccer program at the Geffen Academy. Laura is a Tottenham Hotspur fan, and previously was a competitive amateur boxer.

David Collicutt

Boys High School Fr/So Head Coach

David served as Athletic Director of the Marlborough School in Los Angeles for 17 years, where he taught physical education classes, led a competitive sports program for 36 teams in 12 sports and founded a sports medicine program, collaborating with pediatric sports medicine specialists and researchers at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He led high school teams to dozens of league championships, including eleven California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)-Southern Section (SS) Championships and two CIF State Championships. In 2016, he was named an inaugural CIF-SS MVP Athletic Director, and he continues to serve on the Athletic Administrator’s Committee, as well as the CIF-SS Soccer Advisory Committee. He is an adjunct professor at Concordia University, Irvine, teaching advanced technology in the Coaching and Athletics Administration M.A. program. David attended Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England, where he earned a B.A. (Hons) Degree and a Postgraduate Professional Diploma, and served as captain of the cricket and soccer teams.

Flavio Ribeiro

Boys Soccer Middle School (Blue) Head Coach
Winter 2018

Flavio joins our team after teaching and coaching at Marlborough School for over 20 years. Originally from Brazil, where he played as a professional soccer and futsal player, Flavio excels in aquatic sports, urban fitness, water safety and emergency training, and of course soccer instruction. At the Menezes Cortes School in Rio de Janeiro, Flavio was a physical education teacher, as well as the Dean of Faculty. Recently he has coached club soccer locally, as well as school soccer. He coached the competitive swimming team at Marlborough School, and has also assisted on the track & field coaching staff. Flavio’s favorite soccer team is Flamengo, and he shares his passion for sports with his two daughters. Beyond sport, Flavio is an accomplished musician and he manages and performs in a Brazilian Samba Band, Brasilidade.

Milan Iloski

Assistant Coach, Soccer
Winter 2018

Milan joins our coaching staff as a current member of the UCLA Men’s Soccer Team. He has coaching experience with the UCLA Soccer Camps, and has coached with various youth and high school camps and clinics.

Milan attended San Pasqual High School, before joining the Bruins and his two brothers on the UCLA squad. Milan was named a PAC12 Player of the Week in 2017, and finished the season with three goals and two assists. Milan played for the USA U18 and U19 National Teams, and also for Real Salt Lake AZ U-17/18.
