Emily Harrell

Starting as a tutor in high school and college, Emily taught English to the business elite in Madrid, Spain. Upon returning to the U.S., Emily received her Multiple Subject credential and taught digital literacy, public speaking, health, art, music, theater, and P.E. When she saw a need for more math teachers, Emily kept her “coach” title but added a Math Authorization to her credential and spent the next four years teaching 7th and 8th grade math. Her insight into student and teacher needs has driven her to make math in the classroom more exploratory and exciting. Emily brings her unique skill set to the Learning Specialist role at Geffen Academy, where she strives to help all students learn at their best. Outside of work, Emily loves yoga, burritos, all things Harry Potter, and her two Dobermans, Dobby and Siobhan.
