Sarah Harrell

Ph.D. - Latin & Research Educator
Dr. Harrell earned her B.A. in Ancient Greek and Latin from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. in Classics from Princeton University.
Dr. Harrell teaches Latin and Advanced Research at Geffen Academy. Her research focus was the intersection of the poetry, history, and material culture related to ancient Greek tyrants in Sicily. She has studied in Greece and Italy, including at the American School for Classical Studies in Athens and the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. She has taught Latin, Ancient Greek, and Classical Studies at all levels, from elementary to college and university students. She has a deep love for the study of the ancient world and feels privileged to share that passion with students at Geffen Academy. In her spare time, she loves to swim, read, explore LA, and spend time with her husband, Aaron, and her cat, Hector.
